A Subtle Charme

“A Subtle Charme” at Villa Althea – Relais de Charme / Mango

Located in the heart of the Langhe wine district and surrounded by lush vineyards planted with Dolcetto and Moscato, Villa Althea is a noble country residence dating back to the early 800 and property of the owner’s ancestors.

It is very special to me, too because despite being extremely dense, it is elegantly unique.

The interiors are elegant and adorned with classic-style furniture skilfully combined with an exotic one and precious fabrics by the bright colors. Each room shows great attention to detail, a passion for color and a personal eclecticism in style.

In some ways, I feel quite connected to ita s Malaika is the symbol of simplicity; putting a great deal of attention to details.

This shooting was specifically dedicated to the outfits as part of an ambience.

Each model was photographed in a separate room and to top it all; the final shooting was in the most iconic place of the Villa: the swimming pool of 60 square meters surrounded by large Art Nouveau windows that you can open in Summer and have an outdoor use of the pool.

Most of the pieces are hand-painted by artist Sarah Bowyer – www.sarahbowyer.eu dedicating this collection to Indonesia. As well as the paint on face.

DESCRIPTION

New pieces coming in, double breasted coats in Wool and mixed Linen as well as embroidered Cotton mixed with vintage Batik.
Hand painted by artist Sarah Bowyer, to give each piece that sense of eclectic taste yet fully Made in Italy.

A post-pandemic prelude to the summer

“A post-pandemic prelude to the summer”

Malaika’s very first Still Life shooting of the Shell Jewelry…

The idea behind these pictures is to set the scene and the summer mood and take you away into a journey of brilliance. Especially when some of the shells were worn by Beatrice, young model.

Candid shots were taken to take you away from this “gap year” full of uncertainties, definitely unmasked giving out that sense of wholeness.

DESCRIPTION
  • Natural shells picked up on the Adriatic Sea.
  • Hand-worked setting around each shell without using glue.
  • Innovative technique, in silver925°/…
  • Each piece is unique, but most of all available upon request in Silver925; pink and yellow plating as well as black Rodhium, Gold 18carat and more.

    Just an amazing Foulard

    Just an amazing Foulard

“Just an amazing Foulard” on Matha & Beatrice Ines: for Italy and USA

This specific shooting was dedicated to the ultimate accessory, the Foulard!
Malaika’s latest fashion craze: a typical French foulard. Impeccably sexy, coy, and the ultimate status of chic, a thin scarf is not necessarily an accessory but actually a French signal of confidence. It takes quite the bravery to put on the coveted headcover in days when fashion tends to wear less and less, making the scarf a luxury.

    Description

Foulards were thought out as an ultimate accessory, coming from remnants of all the fabrics used in the collection.
Each one is personalized and hand painted by artist Sarah Bowyer.
The idea behind the various pieces of Foulards, was to give each one a life of its own as a complement to any wardrobe, anywhere.

Malaika has decided to use the remnants of all fabrics, especially the silk and crepe as well as cotton ones to give an assortment of unique, hand-painted scarves. Some of which are being sold in USA.

      Eternal authenticity

      Eternal authenticity

      Eternal authenticity

Reminiscing the past into the present
      – Water (1997)
      – Modern Wedding

These are authentic pieces designed, hand cut & sewn entirely by me.
They are my life-long designer collection, projects from USA that I have kept over the years as my personal archive and inspiration. Despite the years they were made in, they are absolutely contemporary and quite unique, as the 1st project called Water was a true representation of water on body.
The Modern Wedding was all machine-knitted using the finest of yarns: Silk and Angora.
      Description

      Old yet New Projects
Crepe de Chine as well as pure silk from USA, bought in the 90s.
The knitted dress is a combination of Angora and Silk yarns from Italy.

        Yoyogi Park is calling

Shooting “Yoyogi Park is calling” in collaboration with Ellipsis Kimono, Photography by Paul Manna

In this collaboration, the idea was to combine Malaika’s Jewelry&Fashion with the incredible and wonderfully special Japanese vintage Kimono of Ellipsis Kimono.
I am proud to say this specific day, in the centre of Mantova, alongside a multi-ethnical as well as multi-cultural person such as Sata, was the perfect mix of diversity.
The outcome was exquisite and well executed as I wanted to show how Malaika’s versatility and eternal concept keeps standing out.

        DESCRIPTION

The perfect combination of Japanese Vintage Kimonos and Malaika pieces merging by celebrating multi-cultural backgrounds.
In this case the pairing of Fashion and Jewelry by Malaika alongside the Vintage Kimonos by Ellipsis set in a city la Mantua designated in 2016 as the Italian Capital of Culture. It is surrounded on three sides by artificial lakes, created during the 12th century as the city’s defence system. I felt it was a perfect setting for Malaika embarking on a journey full of culture and knowledge.
